OHIP Covered Clinic for residents of Huron-Perth

Private Pay Clinic available for other Ontario residents

does not negate Primary Care Practices

About

The Stratford Menopause Clinic was established in 2023 by Judy Gardiner, a Nurse Practitioner interested in filling the gap in quality medical care through longer visits dedicated to midlife women’s health assessment and menopause symptom treatment. Judy maintains positions with the Stratford Family Health Team and the Huron-Perth Heart Failure Clinic. Judy’s Clinics do not negate Primary Care Physician practices. She is certified with The Menopause Society, and has studied with Queen’s University, The Canadian Headache Society, and Harvard Medical to provide evidence-based care and collaboration.

With support from the Stratford Family Health Team, Judy opened a clinic covered by OHIP for those living in Huron-Perth. At the request of patients outside of this catchment, she has opened a private practice for those who are seeking a provider trained in Menopause care. She is passionate about midlife Women’s Health and advocating for better access to care. She speaks publicly at seminars, retreats, and events to help educate women like herself who don’t know what is happening and are seeking reliable, evidence-based care. She also provides consultation with other organizations seeking to improve their women’s health programming or provide education to their clients and staff.

NOT SURE IF YOU’RE IN THE TRANSITION?

Are you having period changes?

Hot Flashes and/or night sweats?

Have you developed vaginal dryness?

New bladder issues or leakage?

If you answered yes and you are bothered by your symptoms, it is definitely worth further discussion. Consider scheduling a visit with your Primary Care Provider.

Note that the symptoms listed here are merely those that make it likely you are in the transition or beyond. There are many more symptoms associated with this phase of life but they can occur for several other reasons or have many contributing factors.

Schedule a visit with your Primary Care Provider to discuss treatment and a midlife health review. If hormone therapy and cardiovascular disease risk and prevention is not discussed, consider requesting a referral to
Judy, Menopause Society Certified Provider.

Our Philosophy

  • Nurse Practitioner Lens

We value a collaborative relationship with patients and providers. We believe in providing care that is based on the latest evidence, Society endorsed Guidelines, and our patients’ lived experience. Judy values a therapeutic relationship that considers the patient as a whole person who has more than just medication options for treatment and disease prevention.

  • Individualized Care

Meeting patients where they are at and Understanding the obligations that compete with optimizing their health is important. It’s important to ensure that the plan of care is suited to what they can reasonably achieve and work towards nurturing. Appointments with Judy are longer to ensure she understands you as the person and your health profile.

This also helps with medication selection given the array of medications available to treat bothersome menopause symptoms.

Each patient helps develop their plan that is unique to them and based in evidence and guideline recommended care.

  • Optimal Health

We are embarking on an evolution in how we view health.

It is no longer just about being in the normal range for the general population or screening for disease after the illness process has started.

Many are aiming to be their best selves for as long as possible, recognizing the importance of lifestyle in combination with evidence-based therapies, medications and disease-screening.

But it can be difficult to access reliable information on the non-medication opportunities for optimization. In our new and evolving approach to medicine, we are not doing away with our current approach but rather mergine the current with a stronger preventative strategy. This strategy nurtures, not just good health but optimal health.

  • Physical Beauty

Optimal Health includes looking and feeling our best. We recognize that there is an element of feeling physically beauty that complements optimal health. With Judy’s guidance, patients can expect a conservative approach to appearing at one’s best.

Her approaches to skincare and neuromodul tors turns back the clock but does not change the beauty you were born with.

She provides recommendations on how to access safe, more robust aesthetic treatments to help consumers ensure they are informed navigators of the aesthetic industry.
